There are some SDM devices that expand the number of digital ports on the CR3000. There are different models for different types of inputs and outputs.

Options are the SDM-SIO1A or the SDM-SIO4A.
An SC105 connected to the CSIO port is a simple, and less expensive solution if you just need another RS232 port.

RS-232 (full duplex and receive only)
that means that with the adapter, only receive?
It means you can have it set to either full duplex or receive only mode. Full duplex is transmit and receive.
