Overview

The SP10-PW is a 10 W photovoltaic power source capable of recharging batteries. Its 6.1 m (20 ft) cable terminates in a connector that attaches to a Campbell Scientific prewired enclosure. The connector in the enclosure then leads to a power supply or battery base to recharge the battery, allowing unattended operation of systems in remote locations, far from ac electrical sources.

This solar panel has a sufficient charging source for many of our system configurations in tropical to temperate latitudes.

Benefits and Features

  • Supplies electrical power in locations where ac power is unreliable, expensive, or not available
  • Quick, secure connection to Campbell prewired enclosures for more efficient setup
  • Recharges the sealed rechargeable battery of a PS150, PS200, BP12 (requires CH150 or CH200), BP24 (requires CH150 or CH200), CRVW3, CR3000, or CR5000

Detailed Description

The SP10-PW includes mounting hardware consisting of one pn 17492 U-bolt and matching nuts. The U-bolt has a 5.398 cm (2.125 in.) space between the U-bolt legs. This hardware allows the solar panel to be mounted to a 0.75 in. to 1.5 in. IPS pipe [25.4 to 50.8 cm (1 to 2 in.) OD].

Specifications

  • Current at Peak: 0.59 A
  • Voltage at Peak: 16.8 V
  • Maximum Peak Power: 10 W
  • Weight: 2.1 kg (4.6 lb)
  • Dimensions:
    41.9 x 26.9 x 2.3 cm
    (16.5 x 10.6 x 0.9 in.)

Note: Solar panel characteristics assume 1 kW m-2 illumination and 25°C solar panel temperature. Individual panels may vary up to 10%. The output panel voltage increases as the panel temperature decreases.

Compatibility

Battery

The SP10-PW is intended to recharge 12 V Gel Cell or AGM lead acid batteries such as the batteries used with the PS150, PS200, BP12, BP24, CR3000, CR5000, and CR6. It is not intended for user-supplied 12 V flooded batteries such as deep cycle marine or RV batteries.
